Award | Nanmen Market Wins at the Taipei Impact Design Awards

The Taipei Design Award recently announced its winners, and the Nanmen Market project has received the Bronze Award as well as the Sponsor’s Award at Taipei Impact Design Award!
On the ground floor, the multi-level projecting arcades along the street, the extensive glass curtain wall, and the open spaces introduce comfortable northern natural light. These create a bright and transparent environment both inside and outside the market.
The design focuses on air quality to improve the unfavorable perception of poor hygiene in traditional markets. By adjusting the air conditioning intake and exhaust configuration, introducing fresh outdoor air, and installing activated carbon filters and electrostatic fume treatment equipment, filtered exhaust is directed to the rooftop for discharge.
To create an accessible and intuitive environment, each market stalls’ signage boards are designed to tilt downwards towards the customers. This ensures easy access to information for older demographics, the main customer base for Nanmen Market, and those with impaired vision.
