Award | X-Site of Hsinchu Science Park (Phase 1) Shortlisted for the 2025 Taiwan Architecture Awards

2025-10-08
We are honored that the X-Site of Hsinchu Science Park (Phase 1) has been shortlisted for the 2025 Taiwan Architecture Awards.
Located along the i-Line corridor—linking the Science Park in the east with the Hsinchu Major Station Project in the west—the design draws inspiration from the city’s unique blend of technology and culture. In terms of architectural strategy, AI simulations were used to optimize the building’s massing to best adapt to Hsinchu’s strong monsoon winds and to calculate the most energy-efficient façade design.
Drawing from the ecological structure of a forest, each floor introduces different spatial typologies, stepping back gradually from lower to higher levels. This arrangement unfolds a variety of activity spaces—balconies of different scales, outdoor staircases resembling climbing vines, and sky bridges connecting buildings—to encourage interaction and communication among users. The i-Line also extends across the site to form a pedestrian-friendly retail street, bridging the daily life of the technology industry and the surrounding community.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, NSTC, for their trust and continued support in realizing this vision where technology, culture, and ecology converge.
