Construction | Groundbreaking Event for Dao Xiang Public Housing

2025-12-13
The “Dao Xiang Public Housing” project in the Beitou area of Taipei City held its groundbreaking ceremony. Led by architect Kuo Ying-Chao, members of the design team attended the event to witness the official commencement of construction and look forward to the project’s completion, which is expected to bring a new living landscape to the Beitou District.
From the initial competition stage, the project adopted a parallel arrangement of two residential blocks aligned east–west to preserve expansive views of the Guandu Plain. A 25-meter-wide landscape corridor was deliberately set back, allowing the neighboring community to equally share the open plain scenery.
The architectural design integrates local textures and natural imagery, drawing inspiration from “Dao Xiang” Village where the site is located. The result is a social housing development that remains closely connected to nature while embodying the area’s cultural memory.
