1. Absorb the characteristics of the natural environment
The south and west sides of this site are surrounded by dense and tall cedar forests. To the west, you can see the sunset of A-LiShan, one of the five wonders of A-LiShan. The space configuration of this project is to make the most ideal match according to the different landscape. The newly built guest rooms are mainly facing the quiet and secret cedar forest to the west and south, and the dining and meeting facilities that serve guests and are open to the outside world are placed on the northernmost side of the site. The majestic Mountain can be seen from the north, and the changes can be seen to the west. The SPA is at the highest position in the area. The massage room facing south is within reach of the branches of cedar, and the bathing lounge facing north offers a panoramic view of the sea of A-LiShan trees and Tashan mountain. The essence of the forest vacation is almost there. this. A-LiShan Hotel is located at an altitude of 2,200 meters. The starry sky is spotless at night and there is no light pollution. It is an excellent place for stargazing. In this case, a star-gazing platform is set up on the north roof to provide guests with intellectual and romantic activities at night.
2. Containing the characteristics of the original humanistic environment
This project preserves the wooden hotels and cafes during the Japanese period, the guest rooms built in the 1960s, and the planted landscapes of Yoshino cherry, cypress, giant cedar, and wild pears on the west side. The newly built guest room on the right is different in size and scale. It is quite large, and its façade proportions and detailed materials are still constructed in the spirit of wooden construction, with the natural texture of stone, and are in harmony with the natural environment of the A-LiShan Forest Recreation Area.
3. Create a private and leisure vacation environment
The forest resort hotel is an important function of this project, and the planning of the facilities is mainly based on the accommodation time which is normally more than two nights. In addition to visiting the scenic spots in the forest recreation area, visitors can also enjoy the leisure mood in the museum without leaving home. Therefore, the guest rooms in this case are planned to be spacious and equipped with comfortable and wide balconies. Facing the forest full of Phytoncide, and the rooftop cafe can provide outdoor terrace deck chairs, visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of Tashan Mountain and the sunset. The SPA pavilion is located at a high place, and there is a wide view in front of the forest on the back, which is also a time to spend half a day. A good place, the trail that connects the atrium of each facility with the forest behind, can provide passengers with relaxation.
