This project is in the Kaohsiung Marine Technology Industry Innovation Zone of Xingda Port of Qiaoding District, Kaohsiung City, and is in line with the national energy policy to develop relevant plans for the offshore wind power industry. “Marine Technology Engineering Talent Training and Verification Center” and “Marine Technology Industry Innovation R&D Center” are the two main axes of the project.
Ocean Academy and a Symbiotic Environment
The two centers are arranged east-west and north-south. In summer, the airflow enters the building complex and lawn through the southwest side of the site, bringing cool breeze to the outdoor open space. In other seasons, the airflow enters the site from the north side, which also promotes convection throughout the interior. The three major green belts in the XingDa Port area namely the eggplant wetland on the north side, the Harbor Green Park Road on the south side, and the industrial isolation green belt on the west side are extended into the open space of each area in the base to create a regional activity field.
People-oriented space
Human training center : In this project, the outdoor training field correspond the design of the indoor training field are centrally set up to become a complete training place. The training field is concentrated on the north side of the site that is relatively free from external interference. The indoor and outdoor venues are set correspondingly according to the training content, and the circulation is clear, and improve efficiency and improve the quality of the training environment.
Maritime Technology Innovation Centre : A well-ventilated, bright open public space, it contains large steps and other rest spaces outside the office laboratory, providing a high-quality working environment for researchers, and increasing the possibility of cross-field exchanges between various disciplines.
