Award | National Archives Advances to the Second Round of the 2026 Golden Pin Design Award

Designed by our Principal Architect, Ying-Chao Kuo, the National Archives has successfully advanced to the second round of the 2026 Golden Pin Design Award.
Inspired by Linkou’s distinctive red earth, the building rises from the ground like layers of sediment, topped with a transparent glass crown that looks toward the future. Surrounded by preserved woodland, the design creates the feeling of a library hidden within a forest.
More than a repository for preserving historical records, the National Archives serves as a public platform for reading, exhibitions, research, and education. Together with the National Library and museums, it will become a vital pillar of Taiwan’s national knowledge infrastructure, representing the preservation, accessibility, and shared memory of the nation.
