Earth Day |Visiting Taiwan’s wood industry, Te Feng Lumber
2026-04-22
This Earth Day, Bio-architecture Formosana embarked on a meaningful field trip to Nantou to visit Te-Feng Lumber. From raw material sourcing to architectural application, we experienced firsthand how timber is shaping a low-carbon future in contemporary architecture.
Since last year, we have actively promoted regulations for high-rise timber structure, alongside organizing a summer workshop on timber circularity, “The Low-Carbon Generation of Timber Architecture SML” exhibition and a salon on high-rise timber structure and design. Through these efforts, we continue to expand public understanding and imagination of timber architecture.
As one of the most forward-looking low-carbon materials today, timber not only stores carbon but is also renewable and circular. This visit revealed more than just materials and techniques. It highlighted a sustainable pathway from forest to architecture, from resource to design.
