ta podcast|Architect Kuo Ying-Chao Shares BaF’s Management Strategies

2026-07-02
Recently, BaF co-founder Architect Kuo Ying-Chao and BaF Foundation Executive Director Tu Yu were interviewed by Taiwan Architecture, sharing insights into BaF’s management strategies and team culture.
Since 1999, BaF has continuously expanded its architectural typologies in response to Taiwan’s evolving society, from schools and libraries to healthcare, long-term care, and laboratories, addressing the spatial needs and public issues of different eras.
Facing rapid changes in the architectural industry and technological innovation, the team has consistently embraced learning and challenges as its core driving force. From adopting Revit to integrating AI workflows, BaF continues to develop an organic collaborative model and cultivate a work culture.
In the interview, the team also discussed the National Archives project, sharing the reasons behind entering the competition and reflecting on system integration, the relationship between architecture and nature, and the design thinking process from an architect’s perspective.
Beyond architectural practice, BaF has also established a foundation to further extend its social engagement through architecture. The foundation continues to promote research and regulatory advocacy for mass timber construction, sponsor the Asian Contest of Architectural Rookie’s Award, and support other initiatives that position architecture not only as design, but as a long-term force for social impact.
